Danvers Youth Lacrosse - The Nor' East Rattlers:

Letter: Our main mission and inspiration for this team will be to gather kids who love the game and are looking for additional opportunities to play. There are many options within the club circuit - but our ideas focus more on cultivating a love for the game and each player putting the team above themselves. If the kids love to play the game, everything else will follow. They will be more likely to practice on their own, practice with their friends and develop the skills necessary to take it to the upper levels - if that is what they wish to do.  Our coaching staff has a deep rooted diverse lacrosse background from seasoned youth lacrosse coaches to intense former collegiate players.

We plan to start this first season with combined grade level teams. One with 5th and 6th graders and one with 7th and 8th graders. The plan is to begin practices after the MBYLL Jamboree takes place on June 8th and 9th (we already have some fields available to us in Danvers and Ipswich, times and days will be announced after the teams are set). We are looking at one or two local tournaments to play in, keeping them within an hour and fifteen minute drive so overnight stays are not necessary. Tournaments will be over by mid July so plenty of time left for kids and families to enjoy the summer.

Cost if we play in two tournaments will be $300 and also includes a full uniform- shirt, shorts and custom shooter shirt. If we only register for one tournament the cost will be adjusted down accordingly. We are trying to keep the rosters around 18 players(1-2 Goalies, 5 D/LSM, 6-9 Middies, 4 Attack) to maximize playing time. We have also discussed other possible playing opportunities throughout the year and will go into that more as things progress. That being said, we fully encourage kids to play other sports(it will make them better lacrosse players) and there will be no "mandatory" off season.

We hope you will consider being part of our inaugural season and being a part of growing a different kind of lacrosse experience. If you want to join please fill out the attached Google Form. As of now we do not plan on holding tryouts but will fill out the rosters based on responses and positions.
