Information on the 2022 Tribal Boys and Girls Select Program
The Select Program is an opportunity for players with demonstrated ability to hone their skills, participate in a competitive level of play, and gain experience in a play-to-win environment. There are four Select teams: a boys and girls team at the 5th and 6th grade level (U13) and a boys and girls team at the 7th and 8th grade level (U15). Teams are decided by tryout, include an additional practice and game each week, and require an additional fee for participation. Game play time is at the discretion of the coach and is based on ability, performance, attendance, and is not guaranteed equal.
Players participating on a Tribal Select team MUST also participate in the regular Tribal lacrosse season as Select is designed to be an extension of the Classic program. There is no separate uniform for the Select Program. Players will wear their town uniforms for all Select games.
Tryouts for the spring 2022 season will be held at the Topsfield Indoor Arena at the Topsfield Fair Grounds on March 21 and 24 - see below. There is no cost to tryout but sign-up is required. Players will have 48 hours after acceptance to confirm participation by registering online and paying the registration fee.

2022 Select Program Information
Benefits of the Program:
- Expanded Play: Additional Select Team games with local towns, and additional tournaments within Massachusetts
- Enhanced Skills Development w/Professional Coaching: Experienced coaches to help players more effectively prepare for high school and collegiate levels of play.
- Smaller Rosters: Providing more game play opportunities
- Simplified Travel: Compared to club leagues all practices and most games will be played locally
- Lower Costs: As a non-profit organization, the program fee is significantly lower than club leagues
- Community: A competitive option for more advanced players to play together with friends as a unified team within their town.
Certain modifications due to COVID-19 such as social distancing and wearing masks during practices and games will make the 2021 season different than it has been in past. Tribal will abide by the protocols and procedures put forth by Mass Bay Youth Lacrosse (MBYLL), Founders Girls Lacrosse League (FGLL), and the state of Massachusetts to operate a safe Select Program this spring. Our expectation is that all players, coaches, and spectators will follow the rules as they are communicated.
Boys Select Program 2022:

Indoor practice: Topsfield Arena: Thursdays, March 31, April 7, 14
- Grades 5/6: 6:30-7:45 pm
- Grades 7/8: 7:45-9:00 pm
Outdoor practice:
- Grades 5/6: 6:30 - 7:30 pm, Fridays, starting April 29 at Boxford Common Grass or once fields open; (Practice times and locations may be modified for games scheduled on Friday evenings.)
- Grades 7/8: 6:30-7:30 pm, Wednesdays, starting April 27 at Boxford Common Grass or once fields open; (Practice times and locations may be modified for games scheduled on Friday evenings.)
Game Schedule: Tentatively, games begin the weekend of April 8th/9th. Games are held on Friday nights or Saturdays. Final schedule to be announced. Home games played at Boxford Commons or Pye Brook Park.
Girls Select Program 2022:

Indoor practice: Topsfield Arena: Mondays, March 28, April 4, 11
- 6:30 - 7:45 pm for grades 5/6
- 7:45 - 9:00 pm for grades 7/8
Outdoor practice:
- Grades 5/6: 6:30-7:30 pm, Mondays, starting April 25 at Pye Brook or once fields open;
- Grades 7/8: 6:30-7:30 pm, Wednesdays, starting April 27 at Boxford Common Turf or once fields open;
Game Schedule:
Tentatively, games begin the weekend of April 8th. Games are held on Friday nights. Home games held at Boxford Commons. Final schedule to be announced.
